IQOS works by heating tobacco sticks to generate a vapour, which is then inhaled. The tobacco is contained in a HEETS stick that is inserted into the heated tobacco device, which uses patented technology to heat the tobacco instead of burning it like traditional cigarettes. IQOS heats are specially designed tobacco sticks to generate a flavourful nicotine-containing vapour, providing adult smokers with an alternative to traditional cigarettes.
Compared to traditional cigarettes, using IQOS can reduce exposure to harmful chemicals, generate less smell, and provide a consistent and controlled nicotine experience. For example, Tar is the residue from smoke after a cigarette has burned, IQOS does not produce tar because it heats tobacco instead of burning it.
